    Head-to-Head Comparison — April 2026

Apollo vs ZoomInfo: Which Sales Intelligence Platform Wins?

    The Short Answer

Apollo wins for 90% of B2B teams under $50M ARR. It costs $49-99/user/month, includes sequencing and AI writing, and has a usable free tier. ZoomInfo still wins for enterprise sales teams above $100M ARR that need international data depth, Bombora intent data, and org-chart hierarchy to multi-thread Fortune 500 accounts. For everyone else, the math isn't close — Apollo delivers 80% of the value at roughly 15% of the cost.

What I Learned Selling Against ZoomInfo

I was a founding SDR leader at Apollo and went 152% of quota in 2019 and 132% in 2021. That means I sold against ZoomInfo — often every single week. The pattern was consistent enough that I can draw it from memory.

Deals under $10M ARR were almost always Apollo wins. The buyer walked in thinking "we need ZoomInfo" because their CRO used to use it at their last job. Once they saw Apollo's price list, the conversation changed in about ninety seconds. Mid-market deals ($10M-$50M ARR) were 80% Apollo wins — the exceptions were always teams that had already signed a ZoomInfo multi-year and couldn't get out.

The deals we lost were real enterprise. Companies over $200M ARR selling into the Fortune 500, where the buying committee included a security review, a procurement team, and a data governance officer. ZoomInfo wins those because they've been passing that review process for fifteen years. Apollo's still earning trust with that buyer segment.

So the honest framing isn't "Apollo vs ZoomInfo" as a generic question. It's "am I selling into the segment where ZoomInfo's enterprise apparatus actually matters?" For most B2B SaaS teams, the answer is no, and Apollo wins by default on economics alone.

    Pricing: What You Actually Pay

The sticker price tells half the story. ZoomInfo's "starting at $15K" is the floor, not the ceiling. Apollo's $49/user is the real price at any scale.

    Apollo — 10-seat team

    Professional plan: $79/user/mo × 10 = $790/mo

    Annual: ~$9,500/year

Covers: data, sequencing, dialer, AI writing, meeting scheduler

    Total: ~$9,500/year all-in

    ZoomInfo — 10-seat team

    Copilot Advanced: ~$45K-$60K/year base

    Engage (sequencing): +$15K-$25K/year

    Intent data: +$10K-$20K/year

    Total: ~$70K-$105K/year depending on modules

7-11x cost delta for overlapping functionality. ZoomInfo is defensible if you need the enterprise-specific features. For everyone else, that delta is a salary you could have hired.

    How We Evaluated These Tools

Tom Regan was a founding SDR leader at Apollo.io, scaling the team from $800K to $50M ARR, and ran 152% of quota in 2019 and 132% in 2021 — most of those deals landed against ZoomInfo in competitive cycles. This comparison reflects real head-to-head experience, not vendor demos.

Evaluation criteria: total cost of ownership including module add-ons, data freshness vs depth, feature parity on sequencing and dialer, time-to-first-value, procurement friction, and fit across ARR stages from $1M to $500M. We re-evaluate quarterly and update this page when pricing or features change.
