Cookie Policy

We believe in transparency. This page explains exactly what cookies we use, why we use them, and how you can control them.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, understand how you use the site, and provide a more personalized experience.

We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the operation of our website, as well as optional cookies that help us improve our service and understand our audience better. This policy also covers similar technologies, such as localStorage and sessionStorage in your browser, and the tables below list both.

How This Depends on Where You Are

We estimate the country you are connecting from using your IP address, and apply these rules:

  • United States: analytics and identification cookies are set when you visit. Our cookie banner tells you this on your first visit, and you can opt out at any time through Cookie Preferences, our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, or a Global Privacy Control signal.
  • EEA, UK, and Switzerland: only essential cookies are set until you consent. With consent, identification is company-level only, and our browser-based identification providers (Warmly, DataMoon, and LiveIntent) do not load.
  • Everywhere else: only essential cookies are set until you consent.

Marketing cookies require your consent in every region. If we cannot determine where you are connecting from, we apply the consent-first rules and do not load our browser-based identification providers. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we do not set analytics cookies unless you allow them, and identification and marketing scripts do not load.

Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the website to function properly. They enable core functionality such as security, network management, and remembering your cookie and privacy choices. You cannot opt out of these cookies.

Essential Cookies
Cookie NameDuration
artemis_cookie_consent

Stores your cookie choices, including an opt-out, so we can apply them on every page.

Until you change it for an opt-out; 180 days for consent (localStorage)
cookies_accepted

Records that you have made a cookie choice, so the banner does not reappear on every page.

180 days
artemis_region

Stores the region we estimated from your IP address (United States, EEA/UK/Switzerland, other, or unknown) so we apply the right privacy rules on each page of your visit.

Session (sessionStorage)
artemis_thanks_session:<product>

Keeps your order reference for this browser tab after a purchase, so the thank-you page can show your download again if you refresh it.

Session (sessionStorage)
artemis_internal

Remembers that you opted out of visitor identification on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.

1 year
audit_session_id, artemis_session_id

Random identifiers that link the steps of a single visit, such as an audit you start and the recommendations you open.

Session (sessionStorage)

Analytics & Identification Cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors use our website and, together with your IP address, support visitor identification: resolving a visit to a company and, for visitors outside the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, to a named individual. In the United States they are set when you visit, and you can opt out at any time. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland they are set only after you consent, identification is company-level only, and the LiveIntent and DataMoon entries below are never set. Everywhere else they are set only after you consent.

Analytics & Identification Cookies
Cookie NameDuration
_ga, _ga_31P9K215F7

Set by Google Analytics to distinguish visitors and sessions for site usage statistics.

Up to 2 years
artemis_visitor_id

Identifier used to recognize returning visitors. Combined with your IP address, it supports visitor identification (company, and outside the EEA/UK/Switzerland the individual).

1 year
artemis_fingerprint

Stores device characteristics (screen, graphics, fonts, time zone, language, and hardware) that our site combines into a device fingerprint to recognize returning visitors. Not created when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal or you have opted out of identification.

Until deleted (localStorage)
_lc2_fpi, _lc2_fpi_js, _li_dcdm_c, _li_duid, _li_ss, _li_uuid, _lips

Set by LiveIntent, the identity partner used by Warmly and DataMoon, to recognize your browser and match the visit to a hashed business email address. LiveIntent receives the address of the page you are viewing and this browser identifier. Not set in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, when your location is unknown, when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, or after you opt out.

Up to 2 years
dm_fbc

Set by DataMoon to keep an advertising click identifier (such as a Meta click ID) from the link you arrived on. Not set in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, when your location is unknown, when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, or after you opt out.

Up to 90 days (localStorage)
entryPage, exitPage, pageHistory, pageCount

Set by DataMoon to record the pages you view during this visit, which it receives for visitor identification. Same regional and opt-out limits as dm_fbc.

Session (sessionStorage)
artemis_attribution

Stores the campaign parameters (UTM tags), referring site, and landing page that brought you to our site. It stays in your browser and is read by our own site, for example to attribute a form you submit to the campaign that brought you. Removed when you opt out.

Until deleted (localStorage)

Marketing Cookies & Attribution

HubSpot's marketing script, which sets the HubSpot cookies below, loads only after you allow marketing cookies, in every region, and never when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. Our own site also keeps a short-lived record of partner link clicks so each click is counted once.

Marketing Cookies & Attribution
Cookie NameDuration
hubspotutk, __hstc, __hssc, __hssrc, __hs_cookie_cat_pref

Set by HubSpot to recognize your browser across visits and sessions and to record your HubSpot cookie choice. Set only after you allow marketing cookies, and never when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.

Up to 6 months (hubspotutk, __hstc, __hs_cookie_cat_pref), 30 minutes (__hssc), session (__hssrc)
artemis_click_dedup

Prevents a single click on a partner or affiliate link from being counted twice.

Session (sessionStorage)

Third-Party Services

We use third-party services that set their own cookies or receive data tied to identification cookies. When each one runs follows the regional rules above. These services include:

  • Google Analytics and Ahrefs Web Analytics - Site usage analytics
  • Warmly - Visitor identification and intent data (not loaded in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland)
  • DataMoon - Visitor identification, including person-level identification (not loaded in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland)
  • LiveIntent - Identity matching used by Warmly and DataMoon. It receives the page address and a browser identifier, and may read advertising identifiers that other websites have already stored in your browser
  • Amplemarket - Company and contact enrichment used in visitor identification (company-level only in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland)
  • HubSpot - Marketing script (only after you allow marketing cookies)
  • Stripe - Secure payment processing

Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing the use of cookies they set. For full detail on how we use your IP address and identification data, see our Privacy Policy.

Your Rights & Choices

You have the right to:

  • Accept or reject non-essential cookies when you first visit our site, or in the United States, opt out
  • Change your cookie preferences at any time using the button above or in our footer
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, or by sending a Global Privacy Control signal
  • Delete cookies already stored on your device through your browser settings
  • Use browser extensions that block or manage cookies

When you opt out or withdraw consent, we delete the identification cookies and browser storage listed above (artemis_visitor_id, artemis_fingerprint, and the LiveIntent and DataMoon entries) from your browser and reload the page so those scripts stop running. Your choice applies to the browser and device you make it on.

Note that rejecting certain cookies may impact your experience on our website.
